When Sidious took over, Order 66, a protocol that would identify all Jedi as traitors to the Republic, was added to the clones' inhibitor chips. He was respected for his quiet wisdom and devotion to the Force and was a survivor of the initial Great Jedi Purge. He was known to be one of the wisest members of the Council. Sifo-Dyas intended these chips to prevent any treacherous behavior from the clones. Oppo Rancisis was a Force-sensitive Thisspiasian male Jedi Master who served on the Jedi Council during the High Republic Era, Invasion of Naboo and the Clone Wars. However, Darth Sidious took control of Clone production, selecting bounty hunter Jango Fett (Temura Morrison) as the genetic template for the clone army and each clone was implanted with an inhibitor chip that, when activated, would cause the clones to respond to orders without question. These soldiers were created and raised in a facility on the planet Kamino by Kaminoan scientists, and they were commissioned by Sifo-Dyas, a Jedi gifted with foresight, a decade before the start of the Clone Wars. The Clone Wars was a three-year period of conflict in Star Wars between the Republic, the official galaxies-wide governing body, and the Confederacy of Independent Nations.
Between the various comic runs and two animated television series taking place during and immediately after the Clone Wars, much has been revealed about which Jedi managed to survive. Order 66 was the Clone Trooper command given by Emperor Palpatine causing all Clones to execute their Jedi generals, but there were a handful of survivors in the current Star Wars canon.
